English for Academic Purposes – Primary

Course Overview

The Primary English for Academic Purpose Program at Adelaide International School, is where young learners aged 5-12 embark on an exciting journey of English language learning and academic growth.

Our program is specially designed for new arrivals to Australia, ensuring they thrive in a nurturing environment.

At Adelaide International School, English isn’t just taught—it’s lived. From dynamic speaking and listening exercises to engaging reading, writing, and viewing activities, every aspect of our curriculum fosters confident, articulate communicators. The curriculum is aligned with the Australian Curriculum and Reporting Authority (ACARA) curriculum objectives and students learn the language relevant to all primary school subjects.

Our specialist staff are dedicated to guiding students through subject-specific English, preparing them thoroughly for mainstream primary education.

Our program uses diagnostics from the Learning English Achievement and Proficiency Levels (LEAP) to track student progress termly. Parents receive detailed reports, ensuring they are well-informed about their child’s development.

We collaborate closely with a wide array of local private and government schools to facilitate smooth transitions for our students. Whether referred by another institution or joining us directly, every student benefits from tailored support to enhance their general and subject-specific English skills.

Our small-group, language-rich classrooms, where every day is filled with curiosity, creativity, and academic achievement, are an ideal place for your child to learn and thrive.

English for Academic Purpose Program short primary courses are available during the summer holidays.

English for Academic Purpose Program primary term and Semester courses can be arranged via our AISA Manager.  The students enjoy the benefits of a specialist site off campus locally where they can enjoy green space, structured play and specialist facilities to support development of their English Language.
