Australian National Curriculum Year 10

Course Overview

Students join Adelaide International school in Year 10 which is a foundation year to the Senior School where students go on to study either the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) or study A-levels.

The Australian Curriculum includes must study subjects and electives as follows:

  • English (Literacy – must study)
  • Maths (Numeracy – must study)
  • Science (Must Study)
  • History (Must study for at least a semester)
  • Physical Education (Must participate in each week)
  • Exploring & Identifying Futures
  • Electives (Students choose from a list that AIS offers)

The Australian Curriculum subject are blended with IGCSE’s students can opt in or out of the IGCSE depending on their individualised goals.

Generally students who opt in select electives of interest as well as Maths and English and Science that will benefit them for further study in those subjects in the senior school.

Entry Requirements

  • Age: at least 15 years old
  • Verifiable results of a standardised English test or the EPET
  • Student, Working Holiday, or Visitor visa

Pathways After Successful Completion:

  • Entry into Cambridge / SACE at Adelaide International School
  • Entry into AISA Schools
